Baumanière

In the heart of Baux-de-Provence

Description

Situated in the heart of the Alpilles, overlooking Les Baux de Provence, it is easy to understand why the property Oustau de Baumanière earned a well-deserved fifth star in 2011. The hotel's proprietors, Jean-André Charial and his wife Genevieve, have made every effort to ensure that excellence is synonymous with refinement as evident from the hotel's guest list including Queen Elizabeth of England, General de Gaulle, Jean Cocteau, Liz Taylor and Picasso.

Each of the hotel's 54 rooms and suites have a unique and stylish decor. Contemporary design is beautifully contrasted against the charming backdrop of Provence resulting in a unique and stylish atmosphere to be relish throughout the visit.

The house restaurant serves a Southern french cuisine, with fresh vegetables and herbs grown in the hotel’s organic garden. Make sure to sample the Costières pigeon with roasted beets and lavender garnish, leek and foie gras ravioli or Red Mullet with crisp green basil and black olive tapenade. Head sommelier Gilles Ozzello has more than three decades of experience, perfectly pairing dishes and wines for Oustau de Baumanière guests. Oenology workshops are offered on Saturday morning to quench your thirst for even more knowledge on local wines. Mr. Charial has also developed his own wine, aptly named named "Affective," a blend that expresses the “guts of the winemaker."

The hotel spa offers a variety of relaxing treatments including an invigorating olive scrub, body wrap with essential oils, as well as the luxurious hammam ritual.

The luxurious and historic Oustau is truly a place to enjoy the best gastronomy and wellness experience.
